1. Product Overview
2104B2111 is the short-range receiver component of Honeywell Searchline Excel open-path infrared gas detection system, designed exclusively for hazardous explosive industrial environments with ATEX Zone 1 & Zone 2 certification. It works in pair with a matching short-range IR transmitter to form a complete linear gas monitoring beam, detecting combustible hydrocarbon vapors (methane, ethane, propane, light oil gas) across open plant areas. The receiver captures modulated infrared beams emitted by the transmitter, calculates gas concentration based on light absorption attenuation, and converts measurement values into standard industry 4–20mA analog loop signal for transmission to DCS, PLC or gas alarm controllers. The unit supports both sourcing and sinking current output modes with maximum loop load resistance up to 600Ω, compatible with all mainstream process control systems including Honeywell Experion PKS. Advanced optical self-compensation technology automatically offsets minor installation misalignment (±0.5° angular tolerance) and gradual lens dust buildup, greatly reducing regular maintenance calibration frequency. Built-in full self-diagnosis continuously monitors lens fouling, beam signal strength, internal circuit faults and power supply anomalies, uploading fault status via the 4–20mA loop and local front-panel LED visual alarms. Constructed with solid 316 stainless steel explosion-proof enclosure rated IP66, fully resistant to rain, dust, corrosive chemical vapors and industrial vibration.
